Defining utags

utags provide a simple way of inserting a hyperlink in an Opus article.

Three type of utag are defined by default with a newly created paper:

utag Usage
{url} Syntax: {url:url>hyperlink}

Turns the text hyperlink into a hyperlink to url. Note that you don't include the http:// in the url.

Example: {url:www.the-hug.co.uk>The Hug}
Creates:  The Hug

{ubook} Syntax: {ubook:isbn>title}

Turns the text title into a hyperlink to the book with an ISBN of isbn on the Amazon UK web site. The hyperlink includes The Hug's Amazon Associates referral code.

Example: {ubook:059600382X>HTML and XHTML: The Definitive Guide}
Creates:  HTML and XHTML: The Definitive Guide

{umap} Syntax: {umap:postcode>location}

Turns the text location into a hyperlink to the Streetmap mapping web site with the arrow pointing to the place indicated by the postcode.

Example: {umap:CB21ST>King's College}
Creates:  King's College

You can edit these utags and add new ones of your own. In particular if you have your own Amazon Associates tag you may want to change the definition of {ubook} so that you get the credit for the "click throughs".

You do this via the "Browse utags" option in the Author Menu.
